My Top Drugstore Foundations...

Above photo: Rimmel Wake me up foundation, Bourjois Healthy Mix serum gel foundation, Revlon Colorstay foundation, Revlon Nearly Naked foundation.

I can never resist a trip to the drugstore even if I just intend to pick up some cotton pads, I always manage to leave with a bag full of goodies. To be honest I rarely buy drugstore makeup without any solid and trustworthy recommendations. All these foundations above I have either bought because it was featured on a 'Best of' list or was mentioned multiple times by a favourite youtuber of mine.

I have fairly dry skin so any foundation with words 'radiance' instantly catch my attention. One of my most used high end foundation is Nars Sheer glow, I heard that wake me up offers a similar finish so obviously I had to give it a go. On the Rimmel website they claim the foundation is medium-full coverage but I would say its more of a medium coverage with a luminous finish without those glitter particles. I mainly use this foundation on days I am doing heavier eye makeup, I think nothing is more beautiful than luminous skin and smokey eyes.

Next up is Bourjois Healthy Mix gel foundation, another 'wake me up' product. This product really delivers for me, It has a slightly more liquid feel compared to Rimmel wake me up which seems thicker. It blends flawlessly, doesn't clog my pores and feels lightweight on my skin. In terms of staying powder its not the greatest but if you set it with some translucent powder you're good to go.

Revlon Color stay is a cult beauty favourite, it comes in a lot of great shades and lasts all day. When I first started hearing about this foundation I thought it was only formulated for oily skin until I stumbled upon the dry skin formula in Boots. I find this foundation looks the best when applied with a beauty blender as the coverage can get quite thick and look 'cakey' if applied with the wrong brush.

Now onto my newest favourite Revlons Nearly Naked foundation, this foundation feels more like skincare than foundation when on the skin. Its slightly more sheer than a medium coverage foundation but it does build up if you need extra coverage. The texture is very watery(beware when pouring it out) and blends well on the skin. I use my Real Techniques expert face brush to apply as it buffs in the product evenly.

Heres a photo below of me wearing this lovely foundation...

  1. I personnally am in love with Bourjois' Healthy Mix Serum. I love its lightweight feel. You're right though, it doesn't have the best staying power, but nothing a few touch-ups can't fix.
I'm definitely going to have to check out Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation now, it looks so good on you!
If you're looking for other foundations to try out, I just found this foundation tool that helps you find the right one for you (aswell as the right shade! YES!). You should try it out.
    Hope you like it :):)
